Working in the cricket industry and playing the game are two different experiences, and I’m fortunate to love both equally.

In August, Shannon sir asked if I wanted to continue working in the industry on Saturdays and play cricket on Sundays to keep my passion for the game alive. My answer was an immediate “Yes.”

By October, Shannon sir had found a great club for me to join—Malvern Cricket Club. We played in the B Division of the Mercantile Cricket Competition on Sundays.

At Malvern, I met Sonny Agacy, the father of Leo Agacy, who plays for Richmond. Sonny, an incredible human being, kindly introduced me to the team, and I was welcomed with open arms by all the players.

In the following four months of playing quality cricket, we won our first Premiership in the B Division. To top it off, I ended up being the highest wicket-taker for the team, making the season even more memorable.

This experience was truly special, both on and off the field.
