Being a volunteer at the Sports Tech World Series (STWS) event at the Melbourne Cricket Ground was one of the best experiences I’ve had in the sports tech space. As someone who’s passionate about Sports Tech and AI, events like these are both exciting and inspiring. I’d like to extend a huge thank you to Johann Odou and Andrew Walton for making this experience possible and memorable.

The conference was packed with technology insights and showcased the future of sports through the integration of AI. From industry leaders to tech innovators, the speakers provided invaluable perspectives on how sports and technology are merging to drive future growth.
One of the highlights was connecting with Edward Fitzgibbon, who shared fascinating insights into the rise of cricket in the USA and the role of sports tech and analytics in that expansion. It was incredible to see how data and analytics are transforming cricket on a global scale.

I also had the privilege of connecting with Molina Asthana, Industry Head of Sport, Art, and Culture at the Australia India Business Council. Molina shared valuable insights into grassroots cricket in Australia and how partnerships between Australia and India are fostering growth in sports.

A special mention goes to Lachlan Wills, who hosted the event with impressive confidence and professionalism. Watching him command the stage was an eye-opener, teaching me the importance of speaking with confidence and clarity.
Throughout the conference, two words kept surfacing: AI and data. It was clear why so many companies are investing heavily in these areas—they are the foundation for growth in sports tech. The event opened up new perspectives for me on the role of data, AI, and tech in sports and reinforced my commitment to being part of this evolving field.

Thank you to all the speakers, organizers, and fellow volunteers for making this event a remarkable experience in sports technology!
