I had the privilege of attending the ‘Ace Your Interview’ workshop hosted by Career Catalyst at the Study Melbourne Student Hub. As someone who is currently on the job hunt, I was eager to improve my interview skills and learn from the experts.
The event started off with a warm welcome from the Career Catalyst team, who did an excellent job of setting the tone for the evening. From the moment I walked in, I felt a sense of community and support that made me excited to be there.
Namita Bhatia, the expert host, and facilitator from InternMatch, then took the stage to share her insights on interview best practices. She covered a range of topics, including how to prepare for an interview, common interview questions, and how to make a great first impression. Her presentation was engaging and informative, and I found myself taking copious notes as she spoke.
Next up, we had the pleasure of hearing from Career Coach and Interview Trainer Naren Chellappah, who provided valuable insights on the components of a good interview. He shared his thoughts on the dos and don’ts of phone screening interviews and gave us some helpful tips on how to make the most of this crucial stage of the interview process.
One of the highlights of the evening was the opportunity to practice our interviewing skills in small groups. We were given a list of common interview questions and had to take turns answering them while receiving feedback from our peers. This was a great way to put into practice what we had learned from the experts, and it helped to build our confidence and skills.
Overall, the ‘Ace Your Interview’ workshop was a fantastic event that exceeded my expectations. The Career Catalyst team did an excellent job of organizing and facilitating the event, and I felt like I walked away with tangible skills that will be useful in my job search. I also appreciated the opportunity to connect with other students who are in the same boat as me, and I left feeling motivated and inspired. I highly recommend this event to anyone who is looking to improve their interviewing skills and build their professional network.
