As the cricket season wrapped up in March 2024, I found myself at a crossroads. With the season over, I felt a bit lost, unsure of what to do next. I had just returned from a holiday in India, and nothing seemed to align with my goals or aspirations. The uncertainty was overwhelming, and for a while, I felt a sense of unease.
In May 2024, I decided to reach out to Peter, the President of Richmond Cricket Club, to explore new opportunities. I asked him about the indoor cricket scene and whether there might be any work available in that space. Peter graciously connected me with Ross Gregory, the President of Indoor Sports Victoria (ISV), an organization responsible for organizing all the indoor national competitions for Victoria.
Joining Indoor Sports Victoria
Being referred to Ross Gregory and stepping into the role of Social Media Manager for Indoor Sports Victoria was a proud moment for me. Representing Cricket Victoria in the indoor arena, wearing the colors adorned with the Cricket Victoria logo, felt truly surreal. It was an honor to be part of such a prestigious organization.
Ross provided me with valuable guidance on managing social media for ISV, outlining the challenges they were facing and the areas where they needed improvement. I was eager to take on the challenge and help grow their online presence.
Managing Social Media for ISV
Throughout the 2024 season, I managed ISV’s social media accounts with dedication and enthusiasm. My goal was to enhance engagement, increase followers, and create content that resonated with the indoor cricket community. The experience was incredibly rewarding, allowing me to apply my skills in a new environment while gaining valuable insights into the dynamics of indoor sports.
Working with Ross and the team at ISV not only expanded my professional network but also deepened my understanding of social media management within the sports industry. The season was a success, and I’m proud of the work we accomplished together.
